I played a show at Salamone’s in Fort Atkinson, WI last night.
I don’t know what it is about this part of Wisconsin, but people never seem to want to clap after songs.
They do. But it’s half hearted.
It isn’t because they don’t like the music. A few people threw me tips (on top of the $50 and free food/drink offered by the house) and I saw people singing along and bobbing their heads. One guys even yelled out, “Thanks for playing NOFX!” after I played some NOFX.
Maybe it is because they are eating or drinking or smoking and their hands are full.
Anyway, the McCready’s came out in support. They clapped, but were also eating.
Finally, 3 girls from the local dinner theater came in after work for drinks. They clapped loudly after every song and I really appreciated it.
